Functions Of Red Blood Cells In Your Body

  Also referred to as erythrocytes, Red blood cells deliver oxygen to body tissues. Oxygen turns into energy & the tissues release CO2. Then, the RBCs transport CO2 to the lungs.  They are responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the body’s tissues. The tissues create energy with oxygen & release an identified and waste product in the name of carbon dioxide. The RBCs take CO2 to the lungs to exhale it.
